The unexpected value behind a brand photoshoot
When clients book a shoot, they expect a gallery of beautiful images, of course! But what they receive is much more than that; the result of everything that led up to it, and everything it’s designed to do afterwards.
Without realising, most people don’t come to a shoot just wanting “nice photos”, they come with ideas they’ve been thinking about for months, or sometimes years. They come with barely-there visions of how they want their business to feel online, but no clear way of bringing that to life. They come with a future in mind, but perhaps no clear path forwards.
And so, we get to work.
Part one: The foundations.
One of the more unassuming parts of this process, actually brings the most unexpected value! From the very get-go, I want to know your story. This isn’t a consultation, this is an unearthing!
Let’s talk about your business. What do you do, who are you speaking to, and how do you want to show up? Let’s look at what’s currently working, what feels off, and what you actually need from your content… not just today, but in the months ahead.
For my clients, that’s where my experience as a corporate marketer comes in most handy. Brand photography isn’t just about creating images for a single purpose; it’s about creating something that can hold weight across your entire business, support multiple marketing campaigns and accurately represent your entire brand.
That right there, that’s the biggest part that people don’t always see.
Lightbulbs galore, this first part is where the ah-ha moments happen and clients become clearer, more excited and more confident in themselves, and their business.
Part Two: The experience.
My years of working in marketing, content creation and brand storytelling shape how I approach every shoot. My understanding is that your images aren’t just there to look good, they also need to do something. They need to communicate, support, build trust and help people understand who you are before you’ve even said a word.
But in order to do that, you need to be confident in posting them!
I treasure the time I have with my clients; it’s vital that they enjoy the process, feel seen, heard and valued, and ultimately, confident in promoting themselves with my work.
Perhaps they’d been struggling with consistently posting, or they didn’t feel enthused by their previous content, or they never felt like a natural on camera. Post-Brand-Shoot, they have a fresh perspective on their brand and business, how they can move forward in their marketing, and for so many, a new-found confidence in their promotional efforts. It’s like they’ve had marketing coaching while shooting!
And then, finally, what everyone came for… the pretty pictures.
Part three: The assets.
I’m a photographer, taking photos is what I do! Your super-fun session becomes a big-ole’ juicy library of content, right there at your finger tips, any time you feel stuck on something to post.
Imagery for your website, refreshed!
Your social media, gorgeous!
Your launches, magnetic!
Your campaigns, professional!
Your emails, standing out!
Your future ideas that haven’t even been planned yet, bubbling away...
All created in one intentional investment.
So when I say a shoot is not just a bunch of photos, I don’t mean it as an over-romanticised idea - I mean it quite literally.
It’s the result of planning, experience, conversation, trust, and intention, all condensed into a format that your business can keep using long after the camera is packed away. And that, for me, is what makes it valuable. Not just how it looks… that’s a bonus, right?
But how long it keeps working for you afterwards!
Lot’s of love, Soph x
